A Mobile Bookstore Specializing in Horror

Well, here it is, our first post. Hopefully, there will be much more to come as we get this thing up and running.

Let’s get to know one another! Hi there, Substack folks. I’m Walt, and some of you probably remember me from another publication (Blackspire). Others I have yet to meet. I’m starting a mobile, horror-focused book and game shop called Strangleroot Books & Games. We’re based in Marion County, Florida, and will be the first horror-exclusive bookstore in North-Central Florida, as well as the first mobile horror bookstore.

You can get a better idea of what’s going on from the About page. The sister publication to this store is The Spec-Fic Speakeasy (a spec-fic-focused podcast coming in late July/early August), where you’ll find author interviews, book talk, and general weirdness.

Why should you care? Well, if you’re in Florida (or visiting), you can come see us once we’re up and running! If you’re a horror author or run a small press, we’d love to talk to you. 25% of our inventory will be small-press and self-published horror authors (more details about that on our About page).
